"Бизнесът е в основата на всичко, което се случва и на всичко, което не се случва в съвременното ни общество. Това е кратко и неизчерпателно, но ясно и точно определение за състоянието на Кокимото днес. В продължение на седем години с почти маниакална последователност и пълно себеотдаване разработвам егоцентричната си идея да успея в името на себе си. Комерсиалния успех е естествена предпоставка за това, а всяка изложба – очаквано продължение.
В основата на настоящата, стои идеята да подобря материалното си състояние, като същевременно не допринасям особенно за развитието на изкуството... Ако за някои, които твърдят, че правят висше такова „през последните години всичко е супермаркет“, то за мен не остава друго освен да открия „поредния“. Заглавието на проекта е “So fresh, so clean”, а картините за него подготвям от една година.
Като част от моето ежедневие те са концептуално – необвързан визуален израз на стремежа ми към по-голяма популярност, материални придобивки и независимост, но най-вече достатъчно средства, с които да оправдая факта, че правя това, което искам. И ако поради нестабилното време, в което живеем нещата не се случат така, както целя, оставам с идеята, че единственото богатство по време на криза е културния продукт… И като знаете колко съм продуктивен, изводите за останалото можете да си направите и сами."

кратка биография 

Роден през 1979 г. във Варна. Завършва художественото си образование във Факултета по изобразителни изкуства към Университета „Св. Св. Кирил и Методий”, Велико Търново, магистърска степен -  специалност „Графика” /2007/ и специализира в графичния департамент на Академията за изящни изкуства в град Лодз, Полша /2008 /. От 2010 член на СБХ - София.Живее и работи във Варна.

concept:
"Business is at the heart of everything that happens and everything that does not happen in our modern society. This is brief and incomplete, but a clear and precise definition of the state of Kokimoto today. For seven years, with an almost maniacal devotion and complete sequence of egocentric development of the idea to succeed in the name of himself. Commercial success is a natural prerequisite for this, and every show – an anticipated sequel.
The basis of this is that there is an idea to improve his financial situation, while not particularly contributing to the development of art ... If, for some, who claim to be making such claims "in recent years it's a supermarket," it remains for me to find "another". The project title is "So fresh, so clean", and the pictures took one year to prepare.
As part of my daily life, they are conceptually single visual expression of my desire for greater visibility, material possessions and independence, but mostly sufficient funds with which to justify the fact that I do what I want. And if, because of the unstable times in which we live, things do not happen as intended, staying with the idea that the only wealth in times of crisis is a cultural product ... And if you know how productive I am with my results, the rest you can do yourself."

Curated by_Vienna 2011 e амбициозен проект , паралелна програма на VIENNAFAIR, който от 12 май до 18 юни 2011 ще има своето трето издание. 21 водещи частни галерии за съвременно изкуство във Виена влизат в творческа симбиоза с 21 специално поканени водещи международни куратори, които имат опит в работата с артисти от Източна и Югоизточна Европа. Техните специално създадени за пространствата на галериите проекти изследват разнообразни исторически пластове и разглеждат работата на някои от най-влиятелните артисти от периоди на радикални експерименти и протести, свързани с антикомунистическия underground до днес , времето на възникването на нови тенденции и концептуални практики, които силно променят облика на съвременната художествена сцена и пазар. Мотото на curated by Vienna 2011 e EAST by SOUTH WEST и проектите разкриват глобалните механизми в разширяването на културните граници в нова Европа, проучват колекционерските нагласи и тенденциите в креативните практики днес, като в същото време идентифицират Виена като пресечна точка на социо-културни, политически и търговски потоци между изтока и запада.

Проектът на румънската кураторка Лилиана Попеску /Knoll galerie/ „Портрети и автопортрети от частни колекции" изследва колекционерството на съвремнно изкуство в страните от източния блок и представя 30 творби от частни колекции от България, Румъния , Литва, Латвия, Естония между които и творби на Недко Солаков, Петър Минчев и Калоян Илиев- Кокимото.

curated by_vienna is an ambitious project that commissions co-operations between Vienna’s leading contemporary art galleries and internationally renowned curators. Now in its third year, curated by_vienna 2011 will be held in 21 galleries throughout the city, opening on May 12 and running until June 18. Under the title EAST by SOUTH WEST, this year’s project takes as its starting point the importance and relevance of Vienna for Eastern and Southeastern European contemporary art and artists. 21 curators have been invited to develop special exhibitions for the participating galleries.
curated by_vienna 2011 is presented and funded by departure in cooperation with the 21 participating galleries. departure, the Creative Agency of the City of Vienna and a company of the Vienna Business Agency, is Vienna’s point of contact and funding organization in the field of creative industries including visual arts and the art market.
The title of curated by_vienna 2011 describes a geographical conundrum — to be solved using the compass of contemporary art. This geographical aspect reflects Vienna’s status, at different moments in European history, as an advocate for culture and contemporary art from an expanded Eastern European space. The project hones on regional geography at a time, and in a world, largely governed by global mechanisms and ways of thinking.
The project’s intention is to investigate a wider understanding of Europe and its transformations since the countries formerly behind the Iron Curtain have returned to the heart of continental cultural and political life and since Turkey has been engaged in multilateral discourse.
21 internationally renowned curators, who have a track record of working with artists from Eastern and Southeastern Europe, have been invited to develop special exhibitions for 21 leading galleries in Vienna. The project highlights the many points of cultural contact that Vienna has with the cities and states that the participating curators hail from and are making exhibitions about, including: Bucharest and Cluj/Romania, Istanbul/Turkey, Krakow and Warsaw/Poland, Ljubljana/Slovenia, Moscow/Russia, Prague/Czech Republic, Riga/Latvia, Sofia/Bulgaria, Tallinn/Estonia, Vilnius/Lithuania, Zagreb/Croatia.

"Portraits and Self-Portraits in Private Collections"- curatorial project by Liliana Popescu in Knoll gallery

The exhibition at Knoll Gallery is based on a survey of art collecting in Bulgaria, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, and Romania, showcasing approximately thirty artworks on loan from private art collections in these countries. It features a selection of portraits and self-portraits and focuses on works from Romanian private collections. Offering amazing insights, the exhibition has two objectives: firstly, to present various artistic forms of expression and representation and to show how certain emotions are conveyed; and secondly, to highlight new perspectives in art collecting, considering that establishing an art collection is also an act of self-representation.
In many cases contemporary art from the East sails to the West. This time the opportunity to frame Eastern and Southeastern European art is presented by Vienna, certainly a one-of-a-kind city in Europe, a quintessential place for the diffusion of contemporary art.
Despite these turbulent times, the art market is continuously expanding, and more and more frequently the rainfall of contemporary discourse emphasizes the new prospects in the emerging markets.
This exhibition at Knoll Gallery brings together contemporary artworks from private collections in Bulgaria, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, and Romania. Alongside loans from prominent private collections, the exhibition includes artworks from young collectors, and it aims to draw attention to the phenomenon of art collecting in these countries.
With a focus on Romanian private collections, the exhibition presents a selection of works by the most renowned Romanian artists on an international scale, but also some works by young, emerging artists, comprising mostly paintings, drawings, and photographs and offering a daring sample of recent art collections.

curator : Liliana Popescu (1975, Bucharest) lives and works in Bucharest.
In 1997, Liliana Popescu graduated from Bucharest University’s Faculty of Communication Sciences, where she then taught for ten years. She also holds a degree in Law since 2003. She is currently doing a PhD in Art Economics at Bucharest’s National Institute of Economic Research. From 2002 to 2008, she organized numerous exhibitions for the city’s H’art Gallery, working with emerging international artists. From 2008 to 2010, she was director of Point Contemporary, Bucharest, where she presented works by young Romanian artists. She is presently running Prospekt, the city’s newest gallery.

About the project: “Rebelling against the deceivable present of the past in one manipulative reality and its connection with the present day political and economical global worldwide changes, I build “samples of reality” which are in a process of hardening while the future is coming closer. Man can and should change the world, and this is possible only if he shows activity….Once “fixed and settled” the event cannot be changed. INTERSECTIONS-An European Network for Contemporary Emerging Art
Project room reserved to 16 European galleries of contemporary art selected among those participating at KunStart,are called to set up 16 personal exhibitions of 16emerging artists,under 35,in dialogue with 16 promising local artists,under 35.The aim of this project is to trigger processes of networking at European level between the selected galleries, and to facilitate to take contact with the local reality and in particular with local museums and institutions.

URBAN DIALOGUES
project description

Curatorial project named “Urban dialogues” collects works from emerging Bulgarian and Italian artists from different generations. Painting,
collages, installations, video, photography and sculpture as tools to measure the pulse of the present cities and they are means to recognize the city's
soul. The Urban dialogue project raises the question: “is the dialogue possible?” It is a question of identity between samples of trendy myths and
social frames. Contemporary urban culture sends the citizens into storming merry- go-round, empty of illusions, alienation and introvert
communications. The mass media creates new social rules and people driving between them beds and working places, communicating often only trough internet and mobile phones. The moral standards for happiness are same as TV serial “soap” movies. The present - day men is under the pressure of his dreams for love and understanding from one side and the grey reality from the other. Surreal dreaming spaces are only a store for memories and nostalgic feelings for free spaces, true love and natural dialogues. In this project the artists are based in different cities in Bulgaria and Italy. Bulgaria with its communist social background now is a beginner in urban communication frames. The long difficult period of socio-political transformation changes moral values and character of human relations. It is period of open
borders and closed hearts. Italy has stable economical security among religious limitations, ancient culture archetypes, multietnical problems and urbanistic pulse. Both countries are living in a dream for nature and social peace. And here the artistic reaction is an example of urban dialogues - eclectic, nostalgic, full of worries and hope for good future. The question:“is the dialogues possible” stays open.

Нарастващият интерес към Кокимото включая неговите производни: Кикимото; Микитото; Кашамото; Коткимото и други, както и все по – многобройните му фенове, подтикнаха Калоян Илиев да се разрови из дебрите на подсъзнанието си, задавайки вечния въпрос „Да бъдеш или да не бъдеш Кокимото?”
Проследявайки интересни факти и събития от миналото, свързани с живота и творчеството на Кокимото, проучването изведе Илиев до настоящия момент.
Изхождайки от техниката на логическата манипулация в публичния дискурс се стигна до основния принцип - Circulus Vitiosus* - даващ отговор на въпроса. Чрез така наречения принцип, по същество се внася смут в публичното пространство и точно тук е от изключително важно значение внушението и действието на проекта, с логично продължение „I’m the great, because I’m the great!”
Чрез този своеобразен обзор, ние откриваме разпростиращото се влияние на Кокимото през годините, до наши дни. И макар не дотолкова обстоен, поради липсата на пълна яснота около противоречивата му личност, той дава право на автора да заключи: „I’m the great, because I’m the great!”

Две поколения и една галерия ...

Проф.Владо Иванов предава знака на Буларт по време на откриването на изложбата си "Зачеркнатия ХХ век"

Галерия Буларт започна своите 14 години. Статистически погледнато зад нас остават над 350 изложби, самостоятелни и кураторски проекти на български и чуждестранни водещи автори, представяния в България и чужбина. Това, което би могло да се обобщи е трайния интерес на галерията към младите автори и подкрепата на техните първи стъпки, както и методичната образователна линия с множеството изложби, представящи тенденциите в съвременното изкуство. Ангел Карагьозов, Калоян Илиев –Кокимото, Данил Йорданов, Петя Савова, Fars& Mouse, Стефан Халтер от Берлин, Борис Сергинов, Веселин Дамянов - Вес, Васил Василев, проектът „Митология на сърцето” / представен на Първия панаир на съвремемнното изкуство във Вилнюс – с Калоян Илиев- Кокимото, Симеон Стоилов, Пламен Соломонски, Матияс Бирман от Германия и Паоло Вивиан от Италия/ и Самуил Стоянов бяха част от афиша за 2009. Изложби и творчески послания, адаптивни към световните арт тенденциите днес. Тази година бе и белязана с тежката загуба, която съдбата ни поднесе със неочакваната и ненавременна загуба на Рая Георгиева , партньор и помощник в създаването на галерията, както и безценен член на клуба на авторите на Буларт. Последва изложба In memoriam, учредяване на фондация на нейно име, както и организиране на арт уикенд за съвременно изкуство по нейна идея..... През следващата година предстои промяна на статута и програмата на галерията, както и се подготвя за печат издание на текстове, публикации и интервюта от акцентите в живота на галерията.
Всяка година по традиция галерия Буларт изразява своята съпричастност към творчеството на даден художник, поверявайки му знакът на галерията. Малката сребърна значка едновременно и бижу и лого, символизира доверието и уважението към творческите търсения на артиста, към неговия професионализъм и артистично поведение. За знак на Буларт е използван глаголическият символ на Твореца, който представлява триъгълник с кръг на върху му, но са композирани в квадрат, като символизират единството (триъгълника), хармонията (кръга) и устойчивостта (квадрата), краткотрайността на материята и силата и вечността на духа. Отличителният знак е преходен . Носителят на отличието от предишната година го предава на настоящия носител, който следващата година ще има задължението да предаде „щафетата” на следващия творец. Този акт на съпричастност има нематериално изражение, а е предимно духовен и емоционален акт на признание.

Наградата на галерия Буларт за 2009 година получават:

Италианския художник Паоло Вивиан /1962, Италия/, заради изследванията си върху колективната памет и за успешно реализираните проекти по време на първия международен панаир на съвременното изкуство АРТ ВИЛНЮС`09 във Вилнюс, столица на културата за 2009. Там той представи „ Dindele Dondele campano`” /инсталация от обекти и фотография и видео арт/, и пърформансите „Ding.Dong.” /реализирани в Италия и в Литва/. В тези няколко артистични прояви обединени от заглавието на италианската детска песничка Паоло Вивиан изследва съвременното религиозно поведение, като изпраща послание за толерантност към различието, зов за искреност в общуването, хуманност и непринуденост.
Художникът Димитър Трайчев /1952, Шумен/, заради динамичния творчески заряд , довел до множество адекватни на съвременното изкуство проекти, както и за съпричастността му и подкрепата на младите творци във Варна.
Художникът Калоян Илиев –Кокимото /1979, Варна/ получава отличието за млад автор, заради творческите му изследвания върху съвременните икони и фетиши и личната идентичност, обект на неговото творчество, както и заради поредицата успешни проекти реализирани в България, Италия, Литва и Дания през 2009.
Носители на знака на Буларт през 2008 година бяха проф.Владимир Иванов и Данил Йорданов. Димитър Трайчев получи своя знак по време на откриването на изложбата „Зачеркнатият ХХ век”, предаден му от проф.Владо Иванов, а в music cafe Look на клубно парти тази седмица Данил Йорданов ще финализира церемонията предавайки знака на Буларт за млад автор на Калоян Илиев –Кокимото. Третия знак отпътува за Италия, тъй като ангажиментите на Паоло Вивиан не позволяват присъствието му тук в момента. Грамота и произведение на съвременното изкуство ще получи журналистката Виолета Тончева за публикациите си във вестник „Култура”.

Paolo Vivian /1962, Serso di Pergine, Italy/ received the award for his artistic research into the field of collective memory, for his visual language and dialog with the audience. Another reason for the award was his succseful presentation of the project "Dindele Dondele campano' " and performances "Ding.Dong" during First international fair for contemporary art ARTVILNIUS '09 in Vilnius, Lithuania. In these projects Vivian explores contemporary religious behavior by sending a message of tolerance for difference; he asks questions for formalization of the faith and sends his call for honesty in communication, for humanism and naturalness.


Dimitar Traychev / 1952, Shoumen/for his dinamic creativity and support of young artists in Varna in several collective exhibitions and projects.


Kaloyan Iliev – Kokimoto /1979, Varna/ received the annual Bulart gallery's award for young artist for his creative research on contemporary icons and fetishes and personal identity, the subject of his art; also for his series of successful projects implemented in Bulgaria, Italy, Lithuania and Denmark in 2009.

The award is a little silver badge/ insignia - both as jewel and as a logo symbolizes the confidence and respect for the creativity and artistic searches, respect to professionalism. For that sign was used the Glagolitic symbol of the Creator, which is a triangle with a circle on the top. The sing is composed into a square and symbolizes also the unity (triangle), harmony (circles) and stability (square); short-of matter and the strength and eternity of the spirit. The insignia is transitional. The winner of the previous year will give the award to the new winner and next year he has a duty to forward it to the next winner. The award is an act of empathy and it is intangible terms, it is primarily a spiritual and emotional act of recognition.

"Rebelling against the deceivable present of the past in one manipulative reality and its connection with the present day political and economical global worldwide changes, I build “samples of reality” which are in a process of hardening while the future is coming closer.
Besides, any thought – shape could be demolished and changed before it has got harder, in 3D as in concrete reality. Man can and should change the world, and this is possible only if he shows activity….Once “fixed and settled” the event cannot be changed. Kaloyan Iliev -Kokimoto was born in 1979, Varna,Bulgaria. Graduated MA in Graphics at the Faculty of Fine Arts in St. Cyril and St. Methodius University of Veliko Turnovo, Bulgaria /2007/ and Specialization from the Graphic Art Department at the Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz, Poland /2008/. Lives and works in Varna.

5 artists from Bulgaria, Italy and Germany go in field of present social icons and ordinary concepts. In this 5 artistic researches we are looking for identify of the present man in our crazy chaotic reality. Love, urban life style, art system, religion, social frames are in a center of the artistic games. Romantic, provocative, radical and ironic the project express present worries of the players in art industry game and same time creates new icons close to present trendy in visual forms established of mass media and art leaders in the market. “he/art/mythology’ project is a game of words and exchange the meanings.It is a transformation of concepts and creation of false language. It’s about our habit to create fetishes and to live in false mythology. There is a message to be free following the traditions and expression of the worries about human existence in present times. Same time there are the questions about art system and the place of the present artist in it. And these questions are in base of the artist’s expression by the means of installation, video, objects and collages. ARTVILNIUS'09 – the first international contemporary art fair in the Baltic States

ORGANIZER: Lithuanian Art Gallerists’ Association (LMGA)

Vilnius is the European capital of culture in 2009. One of the most important and largest events of this program will be the first international art fair ever to be held in the Baltic States – ART VILNIUS’09.A wide and representative panorama of contemporary art will be opened at LITEXPO Lithuanian Exhibition and Conference Center. The area of 11,632 sq. m will be occupied by some 100 well-known and new galleries from Lithuania, its neighboring countries and galleries from Bulgaria, Germany, Holland, France, Italy, Russia, Austria,Argentina, Spain,Canada, Belgium, Romania, Switzerland, Portugal i etc. Podium discussions, educational events and plenty of other different events are also in the program of ARTVILNIUS’09.

Behind the exhibition collages "You are involved...just like me" remains the idea of past, present and future in a manipulative reality - and its connection with the present political and global world changes in which we are all involved.

Kaloyan Iliev – Kokimoto /1979, Varna/ has MA in fine arts in Veliko Tarnovo University, Bulgaria and specialization in graphics in Academy of Fine Arts, Lodz, Poland. He has taken participation in several international collective exhibitions and curator projects in Bulgaria, Poland, Turkey, Italy, Denmark, Macedonia, France, Belgium, Canada and Spain. He has seven solo exhibitions in Bulgaria and Poland and five awards for prints and Ex Libris from international forums for graphic arts in Poland, Spain, Italy, Macedonia and Bulgaria. Lives and works in Varna, Bulgaria.
